THE FEED IS FEEDING
ON YOU.
"Every spare second filled by a screen is one less opportunity for the mind to wander, question, and invent."
"When every answer is one search away, fewer people learn to wrestle with uncertainty — and that's where wisdom is born."
"The algorithm doesn't ask who you want to become. It asks what keeps you scrolling."
"A generation that never has to be bored may also become a generation that never has to think deeply."
"Constant stimulation trains the brain to consume faster than it can reflect."
"Originality becomes rare when millions are watching the same feeds, hearing the same opinions, and repeating them as their own."
PUPPETS ON
INVISIBLE STRINGS.
The governments you elect, the politics you argue about — theatre. Dolls on strings, moved by hands that sit above nations. Unelected. Unnamed. Unseen. The rulers of the higher world don't campaign — they own the stage.
They are watching and listening 24/7 — every message, every call, every step, every search. Not to protect you. To know you better than you know yourself — and to sell you back your own mind.
From symbols carved in stone, to the newspapers on your doorstep, to the feed in your pocket — media was never built to inform you. It was built to deliver what they want you to know — and bury what you should know.
TARGETS: 8 100 000 000 · STATUS: ALL MONITORED
THEY CALLED IT
CONSPIRACY. IT WAS POLICY.
The CIA dosed unwitting citizens with LSD and ran mind-control experiments across 80+ institutions. Most files were destroyed in 1973 — what survived went public in 1977.
A global signals-interception network run by the Five Eyes — vacuuming satellite, phone and fax traffic worldwide, decades before anyone said "mass surveillance" out loud.
The NSA pulled user data straight from the servers of the biggest tech companies on Earth. Nobody voted on it. A contractor had to tell you.
87 million Facebook profiles harvested to build psychological weapons for elections. Your likes became targeting data.
Military-grade spyware sold to governments, found on the phones of journalists, activists and heads of state. Zero clicks needed.
DECLASSIFIED IS HISTORY.
THESE ARE STILL RUNNING.
Warrantless bulk collection of communications that "incidentally" sweeps in citizens. Congress renews it after every scandal — most recently in 2024.
A camera for every corner: hundreds of millions of networked lenses with face recognition, wired into behavioral scoring of citizens.
Predictive-policing platforms sold to police and intelligence agencies across the West. The training data is the past — so the predictions are too.
An EU proposal to scan private messages on your device, before encryption. Rejected by lawyers, cryptographers and its own impact studies — reintroduced every session anyway.
Programmable identity and programmable money, piloted in parallel. Convenience first; conditions later.
AN 80-YEAR LIFE IS 4,174 WEEKS.
SPEND THEM DELIBERATELY.
Eighty years is 4,174 weeks. Roughly a third — 1,390 weeks — is spent asleep. These aren't estimates; they are arithmetic on public life-expectancy tables. The number only feels shocking because nothing in your feed profits from you knowing it.
The global average is 6 hours 40 minutes online per day. Sustained from age 18 to 80, that compounds to roughly 900 weeks — about 17 waking years, routed through a screen.
In 2004, researchers measured an average of 2½ minutes of sustained attention on a single screen. By 2023, the same measurement returned 47 seconds. The interfaces didn't get worse — they got better at interrupting.
None of this is metaphor. The stock is finite, the burn rate is measured, and the only variable still under your control is allocation. Count your weeks. Spend them like the nonrenewable capital they are.
